@doe @Lumb I mean, honestly the optimal approach is to disable root login and use sudo to run root-level commands or start a new shell as root
but honestly? if it's your home computer, you're the only one with access to it, your firewall is set up properly and you're not running anything like an ssh server, you're probably OK? Like it could be better but you're not putting yourself in imminent risk of anything beyond exploits and the like AFAIK.
